Burr & Forman

Burr & Forman takes a global focus to help employers secure the talent of highly skilled foreign nationals, including multinational executives and managers, engineers, scientists, researchers, professors and physicians. If you are an employer, we know that you may be unfamiliar with complex and constantly changing immigration laws, and we will work closely with you to achieve your overall business objectives as we craft solutions to help you secure the skilled personnel you need. Our immigration attorneys assist employers with the process of obtaining legal immigration status for employees and complying with accompanying post immigration regulations.

We help a variety of clients obtain necessary visas, green cards, and other employment documentation for their employees. We also advise employers regarding I-9 compliance and through immigration audits should they occur. Our team works with the client throughout the entire immigration process, from visa solutions and evaluating the strength of the case to dealing directly with the federal government while a case is under review.

We work with clients on immigration matters including:

Temporary & permanent visas

Assist clients in the preparation of business, professional and immigrant visas including, but not limited to, H-1B, TN, L, E/2, O, P and R visa applications and I-140 immigrant petitions, I-485 applications, DS-156, DS-230 and DS-260 applications and pre-entry B-1 applications. Our team also assists developers and investors using the immigrant investor visa program (EB-5). In addition to obtaining non-immigrant visas, we also facilitate the non-immigrant renewal process both with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and foreign consulates abroad. Finally, we prepare amendments that may be necessary when a temporary foreign employee is promoted, transferred, or terminates his or her employment.

Labor certifications

Our immigration team assists clients in the preparation of PERM ETA-9080 labor certification applications
