Erik P. Doerring, goes by Erik, is a Partner in the firm’s Columbia office. He regularly advises the firm’s individual, corporate, and international business clients on federal, state, and local tax issues. He is the leader of the firm’s tax practice, and also the leader of Burr’s PPP and Cares Act Audit, Investigations, and Defense Team.  Prior to joining the firm, Erik was an attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division.

Jonathan C. Eggert, goes by Jonathan, is a Partner in the firm’s Hilton Head Island office. His experience includes assisting domestic and foreign businesses in immigration matters before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Consulates and Embassies, and other Federal and State agencies. He has also assisted clients in litigation matters in areas including the FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and Title VII.

Melissa Azallion Kenny, goes by Melissa, is a Partner in the firm’s Hilton Head Island office. Melissa’s 20 years of legal experience includes the representation of multinational and domestic corporations, their employees, and private individuals in business immigration matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, and at U.S. Consulates and Embassies throughout the world. She also provides advice and consultation to clients and assists in litigation matters on topics including harassment and discrimination, wage and hour issues, restrictive covenants, FMLA, ADA and worker’s compensation issues, affirmative action, and OFCCP compliance.

Thomas K. Potter, goes by Tom, III is a Partner in the firm’s Nashville office and has over 30 years of experience representing business interest in securities, corporate and intellectual property disputes. In addition to disputed matters, Tom advises broker-dealers, municipal, and investment advisors on regulatory and compliance matters, including FinTech, distributed ledger, and other emerging technologies. He assists companies with internal investigations, and regulatory and compliance matters. Tom has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), having tried scores of arbitrations, and sits as an arbitrator and Panel Chair for the Financial Institution Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Michael W. Rich, goes by Mike and serves as Counsel in the firm’s Construction and Project Development practice group. His experience includes representation of government contractor clients in bid protest, Contract Disputes Act, and False Claims Act litigation. He has also assisted government contractor clients with employment discrimination and wage and hour litigation. Mike has additional experience in handling insurance defense, general commercial, and prime-subcontractor litigation in state and federal courts.
