Burr & Forman is pleased to welcome Cooper Moran to the firm's Commercial Litigation practice group. Cooper is an associate in the Birmingham office and part of the firm's incoming fall associate class.

Prior to joining Burr, Cooper served as a law clerk to the Honorable Annemarie Carney Axon of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

While earning his J.D., summa cum laude, from The University of Alabama School of Law, Cooper was elected to the Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers. He received the M. Leigh Harrison Award and was recognized as a Hugo Black Scholar. He served as executive editor for the Alabama Law Review and was a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society.

During law school, Cooper argued a case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and represented clients in various appellate matters through Alabama Law's Appellate Advocacy Clinic. He won the 2024 Alabama Law Moot Court competition and received the Reuben H. Wright Award as the competition's best advocate. 

Cooper earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from the University of Arizona. Outside of the office, he serves on the Junior Board for Firehouse Ministries Homeless Shelter.
