Burr & Forman Adds Jacksonville Commercial Litigation Partner

Jacksonville, Fla., March 13, 2018 - Burr & Forman LLP announces the addition of partner M. Scott Thomas to the firm's Jacksonville office. Thomas advances Burr & Forman's General Commercial / Corporate Litigation practice with his extensive experience managing complex commercial matters, IP and contract disputes, business torts and real estate litigation. His comprehensive litigation background includes jury and non-jury trial experience in both state and federal courts.

Thomas' areas of practice include commercial / corporate litigation, real estate, consumer finance & litigation, intellectual property, and insurance litigation & coverage. In addition, Scott assists clients with commercial loan litigation and workouts.

Thomas is a member of The Florida Bar and serves on the Fifth Appellate District Judicial Nominating Commission and the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In 2015 he was appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott to serve a four-year term as Chairman of the Florida Elections Commission. He has also been named among Florida Super Lawyers and was named a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent® Rated Lawyer.

In addition to serving on the Elections Commission and Judicial Nominating Commission, Thomas also serves on the University of Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Thomas earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
