Chloe Champion and Maia Middleton Named Rising Stars by ACREL and ACLI
Burr & Forman is pleased to announce that attorneys Chloe Champion and Maia Middleton have been named “Rising Stars” by the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) and the Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute (ACLI) Advisory Board. This honor has earned them an invitation to the 2026 Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute (ACLI), taking place April 27–29, 2026, in Washington, D.C.
This highly selective distinction recognizes emerging leaders in commercial real estate law who demonstrate exceptional skill, professionalism, and meaningful contributions to the industry. Only seven attorneys from across the United States were chosen for this honor, with Burr & Forman proudly representing two of the selectees.
Maia Middleton is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate practice group in Atlanta, where she focuses on multifamily and retail real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, and financing. She regularly prepares and reviews transactional documents and has experience with title and survey analysis and commercial closings. Maia earned her J.D., cum laude, from Mercer University School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
Chloe Champion is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate practice group in Birmingham. She earned her J.D., graduating in the top 5% of her class, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where she served on the Cumberland Law Review and Trial Advocacy Board. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for the Honorable R. David Proctor of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and worked as a research assistant.
