Burr & Forman Expands Jacksonville Office with Addition of Partner Troy Smith

Jacksonville, Fla., January 29, 2018 - Burr & Forman LLP announces the addition of Jacksonville-based partner, Troy K. Smith. Smith's addition further bolsters the firm's presence in Northeast Florida, bringing vast commercial litigation experience, particularly in the construction arena. Troy will be the 14th attorney the firm has added in Jacksonville since the office opened just two years ago, supporting the firm's commitment to growth in Florida.

Smith focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on construction litigation and dispute resolution, real property litigation, and condominium and home owner association representation. He is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar, and is proficient in prosecuting and defending complicated commercial litigation matters as a commercial trial lawyer.

Smith is a member of The Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Association, formerly serving as president of the Jacksonville Bar Association. He has been named among Florida Trend Magazine's "Legal Elite" eight consecutive times, and honored as Florida Super Lawyers "Top 100 Ranked Attorneys" in three separate years.

He has extensive experience litigating multiple jury and non-jury trials on complex construction damages issues, further allowing him to serve as an adjunct professor of Construction Law at Florida Coastal School of Law.

Smith earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law.
