Burr & Forman Represents Blanchard Machinery Company in South Carolina Expansion

Firm News

Blanchard Machinery Company (Blanchard), a leading construction equipment supplier, recently announced plans to expand its South Carolina footprint with new operations in Calhoun County.

Founded in 1982, Blanchard is Caterpillar's exclusive distributor for machine and generator sales, rental, machine parts, and service in South Carolina. The company serves a wide range of industries including construction, mining, agriculture, forestry, electric power generation, and marine power.

The company’s $46 million investment will create 30 new jobs. As part of the transaction, the company purchased a 61.3 acre site at Sandy Run Industrial Park, 15th Street in Gaston, S.C. to expand its existing operation for parts, service, component rebuilds, complete machine rebuilds, and provide additional support services for its other 14 branches across South Carolina at Blanchard’s new 150,000 square-foot facility.

Blanchard’s corporate campus is located at 3151 Charleston Highway in West Columbia in Lexington County, and this site will continue to be the home of corporate administration functions, machine sales, used parts, and Blanchard Energy.

“For over twenty years, Blanchard has worked with attorneys at Burr & Forman on our legal needs in South Carolina,” said Boyd Blanchard, President. “We value our relationship with the law firm and appreciate the contributions from each member of the transactions team in making this new site a reality.”

John F. Wall, IV served as lead legal counsel for the incentive negotiation and implementation for the project, and Robin Stanton served as legal counsel for the real estate work.
