Burr & Forman Welcomes Stewart Miller to Myrtle Beach Office

Firm News

Burr & Forman is pleased to announce Richard "Stewart" Miller, Jr. has joined the firm's Myrtle Beach office as Counsel in the Real Estate Practice Group. Stewart has extensive experience in real property law addressing matters ranging from land use to taxation issues. He has assisted developer clients with single-family subdivisions, multi-family developments, and multimillion-dollar high-rise resorts from acquisition and zoning through licensing and operations.

“Stewart is a great addition to our Myrtle Beach office,” says Bhumi Patel, Myrtle Beach Office Managing Partner. “He brings municipal and commercial real estate experience, adding value to the team and expanding the services we can provide to our existing clients. He also adds height, humor, and colorful stories of government efficiency.”

Prior to joining Burr & Forman, Stewart served as legal counsel to local governments with an emphasis on planning and zoning, real and personal property taxation, and administrative appeals. He has extensive knowledge preparing and reviewing compliance documents, title work, loan agreements, and financial instruments, in addition to general corporate drafting. He has also developed procedures and templates to provide a level of automation necessary to serve specific clients’ legal needs and day-to-day functions.

Stewart obtained his J.D. from the Charleston School of Law and his undergraduate from the University of South Carolina.
