Burr & Forman's John Browning Serving In Leadership Positions For Several Mobile Community Boards
Mobile, Ala., October 2, 2015 - Burr & Forman LLP announces that Mobile-based Partner, John P. Browning, has been elected to the Board of the Downtown Mobile Alliance and appointed to the Mobile Public Library Board of Trustees.
The Downtown Mobile Alliance is a non-profit organization established to support the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Mobile through networking of downtown business interests and advocacy of public officials for a clean, safe and beautiful downtown. Downtown Mobile is the economic, historical, and cultural hub of the central Gulf Coast with an exciting future. Burr & Forman LLP is a Leadership Circle Sponsor of the Downtown Mobile Alliance.
The Mobile City Council President, Gina Gregory, appointed Browning to serve on the Mobile Public Library Board of Trustees, where he will serve an 8 year term. The board is responsible for approving budgets, policy, oversight, construction and leasing of facilities, and employment of the Director. The Mobile Library's programs include regional online access for the poor, downloadable audio visual content, tutoring, reference and research, children's activities, local history of genealogy, the Bookmobile, and many others that serve the community.
At Burr & Forman, Browning is a litigator in the firm's Torts Insurance and Product Liability practice group. He specializes in a variety of legal topics including toxic torts, engineering and mechanical defects, construction defects, motor vehicle accidents, work site accidents, product defects, dram shop/social host, and premises liability. Browning also advises several small and medium sized businesses on a variety of day-to-day legal matters.
