Burr & Forman's John Chiles elected President of the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., October 19, 2015 - Burr & Forman LLP announces that Fort Lauderdale office managing partner, John R. Chiles, has been elected to serve as President of the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law during the September meeting of the ABA Business Law Section. The Conference on Consumer Finance Law (CCFL) is a non-profit organization founded in 1926 by members of the legal profession and the financial services industry to offer educational services, publications and research relating to consumer financial services law.

The CCFL publishes the Consumer Finance Law Quarterly Report, a law journal that examines legislation, regulations, court decisions and related legal developments in the consumer financial services industry.

The CCFL also sponsors the Frederick Fisher Memorial Program, a debate among industry representatives, consumer advocates and government officials on a topical issue affecting consumer finance. This program is offered annually in conjunction with the American Bar Association Consumer Financial Services Committee at the spring meeting of the Business Law Section.

Chiles practices in the firm's Financial Services Litigation group. His practice features a concentration on consumer financial services, class actions, and commercial issues. Chiles received his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University and his law degree at the University of Alabama School of Law.
