Burr & Forman Partners Erich N. Durlacher, Eric S. Golden, Michael L. Hall, David W. Houston IV, and Derek F. Meek have been recognized in the January 2022 issue of Lawdragon's "500 Leading Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers" List. Lawdragon says, "The start of the pandemic brought expectations for mountains of commercial bankruptcy work. And while that has not (yet?) materialized, the stress on companies large and small is real. A good lawyer can make all the difference. And these are the best at what they do."

Erich N. Durlacher was named in the Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring specialty. Erich serves as the firm's President and Strategy Partner collaborating with each of the firm's practice group leaders to enhance practice management. In addition, he serves as the Atlanta Office Managing Partner while practicing in the firm's Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy and Lending Practice Groups.

Eric S. Golden was named in the Bankruptcy & Commercial Litigation specialty. Eric is the Managing Partner of the firm's Orlando office. In his bankruptcy practice, Eric focuses on representing creditors, including financial institutions, special servicers, private equity groups, and other non-traditional lenders as well as other secured and unsecured creditors in state and federal court litigation, chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, and in out-of-court workouts and resolutions.

Michael L. Hall was named in the Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights, including Litigation specialty. He has practiced in business bankruptcy, insolvency, and a range of business workouts and commercial litigation since he graduated from Duke Law School in 1980. Much of his practice includes representing various interests in Chapter 11, pursuing claims of commercial lenders against the debtor, the collateral, and guarantors in bankruptcy, federal, state, and receivership courts.

David W. Houston IV was named in the Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring, especially Litigation specialty. His experience focuses on commercial bankruptcy matters, including the representation of secured and unsecured creditors, committees, defendants in preference actions, corporate debtors, and parties involved in out-of-court restructurings and state and federal receiverships.

Derek F. Meek was named in the Bankruptcy & Commercial Litigation specialty. Derek serves as the chair of Burr’s Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy practice group and as the Immediate Past Global Chair of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He represents debtors, creditors, committees, asset purchasers, and other clients in matters related to insolvency, financial distress, and bankruptcy, both in and out of court.
