Burr & Forman CEO Ed Christian was quoted in an article by Law360 Pulse discussing attorney retention for law firms involved in significant combinations over the last five years.

Using data from Leopard Solutions, the story reviewed large firms’ retention rates of lawyers that were added via large combinations, and Law360 reported that Burr & Forman “held strong with a 71% retention rate” following its combination with McNair Law Firm, P.A. in 2019.

“One of the most important things we do is recruit and retain excellent lawyers,” Christian said. “The primary driver for our combination in 2019 was the opportunity to join forces with these Carolinas-based lawyers and partner with them to provide seamless client service across the new footprint. A lot of time, attention and effort was focused on integration and retention of our attorneys. It worked.”
