In an article discussing lateral hiring in Southeastern law firms published by The Daily Report, Burr & Forman CEO Ed Christian discussed the firm’s own growth strategy, which has included the addition of 16 attorneys since the beginning of 2022, including 4 partners.

Christian shared that certain practice areas are seeing more demand that the firm is committed to addressing for clients, including corporate, real estate and lending. While there are some concerns that the country could move toward a recession this year, Christian shared that the firm has not slowed down hiring even though “there’s an awareness that things might slow down.”

“Our theory and experience have always been that if you hire good people and they stay, they stay busy, even when things get slower,” he said.
