Erich Durlacher spoke to The Daily Report for an August 2, 2022 article discussing law firm approaches to implementing succession plans while looking to fill gaps between generations.

“We have a young leadership team, a new managing partner,” Durlacher told the publication as firm president, strategy partner and Atlanta office managing partner. “We already went through that transition, and it went very well and seamlessly. I can understand why other firms are concerned about it, because it takes a lot of work to give yourself the best chance of success in it. It’s not always guaranteed, but we came through with flying colors.”

Durlacher also shed insight on challenges other firms might have with succession planning in today’s environment as hybrid working becomes more prominent. “It can be a little more difficult if you’re still largely remote or not in the office and around one another,” he said. “Being remote always affects camaraderie and the internal trust that’s necessary for a successful transition. I could see it being challenged in this environment.”
