Burr & Forman Adds Nanette Edwards to its Government and Regulatory Team

Burr & Forman is pleased to announce the addition of Nanette Edwards to the firm's Columbia office as a member of the firm's government and regulatory team, where she will focus on energy and infrastructure projects.

Nanette has over 27 years of experience in communications and public utility law. Before joining Burr, Nanette was twice appointed by Governor McMaster to serve as Executive Director of the South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS), the regulatory body representing the public interest before the Public Service Commission of South Carolina.

In her role as Executive Director of ORS, she appeared and testified before members of the South Carolina General Assembly, both House and Senate, coordinated with state and federal agencies, and provided presentations to consumer, industry, and utility groups.

“There is no one with more knowledge of South Carolina’s regulatory environment than Nanette,” said David Tigges, Burr & Forman’s government and regulatory team leader. “With her addition to the firm, we are excited about the additional regulatory and administrative services we can now offer clients.”

Prior to joining ORS in 2005, Nanette served as vice president and regulatory attorney for ITC^DeltaCom, where she represented the company before state and federal agencies and managed regulatory litigation activities. Nanette has extensive experience administering programs, directing operations, handling regulatory litigation, and coordinating with lawmakers.

Nanette obtained her undergraduate degree from Erskine College and her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
