Rick Morgan Elected to American Board of Trial Advocates

Columbia Partner Rick Morgan has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to improving ethical and technical standards of advocacy and preserving the civil jury trial right. Its more than 7,300 members, balanced between plaintiff and defense lawyers, must have at least five years of trial experience, have tried at least seven civil jury trials to conclusion, and possess additional litigation experience.

Rick Morgan, certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court in employment and labor law, represents employers in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, wrongful termination, and non-compete enforcement. He advises on all aspects of employment and labor law, defends litigation in state and federal courts and administrative tribunals, and provides guidance on union organizing, OSHA compliance, and workplace policies. Rick also served eight years as a part-time Municipal Judge for the City of Columbia.
