Employers are starting to review available options to mitigate the potential economic impact of the imminent release of the new FLSA overtime regulations. The release date is set for July 2016, but some commentators have suggested that it could be much sooner.

The article discusses several ways an employer can prepare for the release of the regulations. In a client alert, Flowers suggests other creative alternatives such as modifying employees' pay by adjusting the salary or hourly rate, paying a salary that compensates for more than 40 hours / week or adopting a fluctuating work week.
