Overview

Chris Hazelip is an associate in the Jacksonville office and a member of the General Commercial Litigation practice group. He focuses on commercial and general civil litigation, representing banks, businesses, and individuals in both state and federal courts. His practice includes matters involving breach of contract, business torts, creditors’ rights, real estate litigation, construction law, and products liability. Chris also advises institutional clients on commercial loan documentation and regularly handles dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment.

Licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia, Chris brings a practical and strategic approach to litigation, guiding clients through all stages of the legal process, from pleadings and discovery to settlement negotiations and dispute resolution. His broad experience and results-driven mindset make him a valuable advocate for clients facing complex civil matters.

In his free time, Chris enjoys saltwater fishing, volunteering with students with special needs, and cheering on the Florida Gators.

  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of client bank on all counts in federal lawsuit involving multiple claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, 2023)
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of client bank on all counts in complex lawsuit involving various allegations of fraud related to misallocation of loan payments (Superior Court of Chatham County, Georgia).
