Overview
Joseph Godoy is a patent technical specialist supporting the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. He assists attorneys with patent prosecution matters across a range of technologies, including software, analog and digital electronics, semiconductors, electromechanical systems, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
Joseph’s primary role involves preparing and supporting responses to office actions issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as drafting provisional and non-provisional patent applications. He works closely with inventors and attorneys throughout the patent prosecution process and assists with patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
Prior to joining the firm, Joseph served as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications related to semiconductor technologies. He previously worked as a patent engineer, collaborating with inventors on invention disclosures and invention harvesting efforts. Joseph holds a master’s degree in Engineering Physics and a bachelor’s degree in Physics.
