Overview
Trey Robinson focuses his practice on commercial contracts, commercial real estate, and general corporate matters. He regularly advises clients on and negotiates supply, distribution, purchase, service, and other commercial agreements pertaining to purchase and sale of goods and/or services, as well as industrial, office, warehouse, solar, and other commercial leases and real estate purchase and sale agreements.
Trey also assists clients with corporate and LLC formation and governance matters including drafting and negotiating operating agreements. He takes a practical, business-oriented approach to advising clients and works closely with them to support their broader business objectives.
Trey earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina after graduating from Clemson University. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Governance Law and named to Charleston Business Magazine’s “Legal Elite” for Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions. Trey is also an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, a background that informs his client-focused approach to counseling businesses and individuals.
Experience
- Represents national distributors in the negotiation of complex contracts pertaining to the purchase and sale of billions of dollars of goods and services including supply, purchase, distribution, service, consignment, warehousing, vendor-managed inventory, logistics, storage, confidentiality, nondisclosure, and other similar agreements.
- Managed a large distributor client’s lease portfolio of over 600 locations across the United States including reviewing and negotiating all new leases and subleases and amendments, estoppels, listing agreements, and SNDAs for existing leases.
- Advised a regional IT managed service provider in the drafting and implementation of new terms and conditions for all of its client contracts.
- Counseled landowners on leases and option agreements for solar and energy storage projects.
- Represents a millwork contractor in connection with subcontracts with general contractors.
- Assisted with the representation of a professional sports team in the negotiation of license agreement for a municipal venue for the team’s practices and games and related sponsorship agreements.
- Advised a sports agency on the formation of a new affiliate for NIL representation and related contractor agreements.
- Represented a client in the acquisition of a large commercial tract for the construction of a new automotive dealership.
