Overview
Porter Simpler is an associate in the firm’s financial services practice group, where he represents financial institutions in consumer lawsuits under both state and federal law. He also has experience handling civil litigation matters in state and federal courts, representing clients throughout all stages of litigation.
As a strategic advisor on litigation risks, Porter has experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions, achieving dismissals and summary judgment. He also has experience handling insurance matters, drafting comprehensive coverage opinions and analyses on claims related to the construction and automobile industries.
While earning his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law, Porter externed for the Honorable Elisabeth French in the 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama. He also served as Articles Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and competed as a finalist with the Cumberland national arbitration team at the National Law Student Arbitration Competition Championship. He earned his B.S. in Political Science from the University of Alabama.
Outside of law, Porter sits on the Junior Board of Christopher Kids and enjoys waterfowl and turkey hunting and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
