Overview
Shelby Pasquini represents clients in general commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout South Carolina. Her practice focuses on guiding clients through all stages of litigation, from case evaluation and discovery through trial and resolution, with an emphasis on strategic, effective advocacy both in and out of the courtroom.
Shelby’s interest in the law began early while working at the South Carolina State House during her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina. What began as an internship evolved into a professional role in the legislative and regulatory arena, where she worked as a registered lobbyist and government relations professional. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in legislative process, regulatory strategy, and client advocacy.
Shelby’s perspective shifted during law school, where she developed a passion for courtroom advocacy and litigation. Following graduation, she served as a judicial law clerk in the South Carolina Circuit Court, gaining hands-on experience in a high-volume trial court environment and working on a wide range of matters, from complex civil disputes to serious criminal cases. This experience further shaped her desire to represent clients in the courtroom.
In private practice, Shelby has managed litigation from initial investigation through trial, including discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and dispositive motions. She has tried multiple jury trials to verdict and regularly works with clients to assess risk, develop litigation strategy, and navigate complex legal and factual issues. She also has experience leading litigation teams and mentoring junior attorneys.
