Overview
Todd Seoane is a technical specialist supporting the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. He assists attorneys with patent prosecution matters across a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor processing, analog and digital electronics, lighting and LEDs, plasma technology, and electromechanical systems.
Todd drafts provisional and non-provisional patent applications and assists with preparing and supporting responses to office actions issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Leveraging his experience as a former patent examiner, he works closely with attorneys to navigate the patent prosecution process and address its complex technical and legal issues.
Prior to joining Burr & Forman, Todd worked at the USPTO, where he examined patent applications involving chemical and engineering technologies related to coating, etching, cleaning, and single-crystal growth apparatuses and processes. Before his patent examination work, Todd spent more than 10 years as an engineer in the semiconductor industry, specializing in crystal growth and plasma technologies. He holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with a specialization in electronic materials.
