Burr & Forman is pleased to announce that Partner Rik Tozzi has been named the firm’s Head of Litigation, a newly created leadership position designed to further strengthen the firm’s approach to high-stakes disputes, trial readiness, and client service across its footprint.

As Head of Litigation, Tozzi will oversee matters proceeding toward trial and provide strategic leadership on litigation staffing, trial preparation, client service, and coordination across practice groups and offices. The role reflects the firm’s continued investment in litigation excellence and is intended to enhance consistency, efficiency, and communication in complex litigation matters while ensuring clients continue to receive the highest level of advocacy and responsiveness.

Tozzi is an experienced litigator who has represented clients in complex commercial disputes and high-exposure matters across a wide range of industries. He has tried or arbitrated over 140 matters to conclusion across 22 states. Drawing on leadership experience both in and outside the courtroom, including as a former professional soccer player and high school soccer coach, he is known for his strategic approach and collaborative style. Tozzi is also recognized across the industry, including by Legal 500, The Best Lawyers in America®, Benchmark Litigation, and Chambers USA. In 2024, he was selected for the “Distinguished Leader” award by American Lawyer Media.
