Burr & Forman Strengthens White Collar Bench with Addition of Former Federal Prosecutor Catherine Crosby
Burr & Forman is pleased to announce that Catherine Crosby has joined the firm’s Birmingham, AL office as partner in the White Collar Crime practice group. She joins the firm from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Alabama, where she most recently served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Acting Criminal Chief.
Catherine's arrival further strengthens Burr & Forman's roster of former federal prosecutors advising clients across the Southeast on criminal investigations, government enforcement actions, and crisis management. Last month, the firm added Beth Warren, former Chief of the Civil Division for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of South Carolina, as counsel in the Healthcare practice group. Catherine also joins partner Robin Mark, former Deputy Chief of the Northern District of Alabama’s Criminal Division, in Birmingham.
“Catherine’s extensive experience across both government and private practice gives her critical insight into what leads companies into – and out of – the government’s crosshairs,” said Office Managing Partner April Mason. “Her addition further strengthens our already deep bench and reinforces our standing as one of the Southeast’s premier teams for white collar matters.”
Catherine will advise clients on white collar defense, government investigations, corporate compliance, crisis management, and complex litigation. During her tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she also served as a member of the Criminal Division’s White Collar Section. She prosecuted 11 defendants in the largest sports-betting organization ever charged by the U.S. Department of Justice, along with other high-profile cases. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Catherine spent 11 years in private practice, where she represented clients in financial services, construction, and employment disputes.
She earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and her B.A. from Auburn University.
