Burr & Forman is pleased to announce the addition of John McDermott to the General Commercial Litigation practice group as an associate in Jacksonville. 

John represents clients in commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts throughout Florida, with a focus on business disputes involving breach of contract, negligence, defamation, civil fraud, breach of warranty, product liability, and claims under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA).

He has experience across all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, conducting and defending depositions, and preparing for trial. He has served as second chair in multiple trials, where he examined witnesses and presented key evidence. John also regularly participates in mediations and settlement negotiations to help clients resolve matters efficiently.

John earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Florida.
