Burr & Forman is pleased to announce the arrival of Counsel Shunta McBride to the firm's Atlanta office as a member of the Real Estate practice group. Shunta represents commercial real estate developers and owners in a broad range of complex transactions involving the acquisition, development, rezoning, financing, disposition, and leasing of commercial real estate.

“Shunta brings extensive commercial real estate experience to our Atlanta office,” said Graham Stieglitz, managing partner of the firm’s Atlanta office. “Her experience representing developers, owners, and lenders in complex real estate transactions, particularly in development and financing, will greatly contribute to the continued growth of our Real Estate practice in Atlanta and across the firm.”

Shunta's commercial real estate practice includes a variety of property types and transactions, including hotel, office, retail, recreational, and cultural center developments. She has experience closing complex transactions involving the financing and development of "live-work-play" projects, a professional sports venue, and a museum. Shunta also represents commercial lenders in connection with commercial real estate loans, including the financing for solar renewable energy projects and affordable housing developments supported by federal guarantees and investment tax credits. 

Drawing on her prior experience as a solo practitioner in wills, trusts, and estates, Shunta's practice includes estate planning, probate, commercial real estate dispositions through estate administration, fiduciary-broker disputes, and out-of-court resolution of estate and trust matters, including intra-familial disputes and non-judicial trust modifications.

Shunta earned her J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law, where she served on the Alabama Law Review. She earned her B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from The University of Alabama.
