Catherine Spann Named to Mobile Bay Magazine’s 40 Under 40
Mobile Partner Catherine Spann has been named to Mobile Bay Magazine’s annual 40 Under 40 awards, a program that recognizes outstanding individuals under the age of 40 for their leadership, professional excellence, and commitment to the Bay Area community. Honorees are selected from a wide range of fields, including business, law, medicine, education, the arts, and community organizations.
Catherine’s legal practice focuses on commercial, business, complex personal injury, insurance, construction, transportation, and products liability matters. She is known for her practical, solution-focused approach and for guiding clients through each phase of litigation with a steady hand. Catherine has extensive courtroom experience and regularly handles mediations, depositions, inspections, and expert issues, with her trial work recognized for its strategic and effective cross-examination. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers: "Ones to Watch" in Commercial Litigation since 2021.
Her career is defined as much by her commitment to community service as by her work in the courtroom. A dedicated advocate for children, families, and the greater Mobile community, she has invested years of leadership and volunteer service into organizations that strengthen and support the region.
Her longstanding involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama reflects this passion. As a Board Member, she has helped advance the organization’s mission and was recognized as New Board Member of the Year and the recipient of the Woman & Youth Award in 2024. She also previously served as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama, mentoring youth and supporting long-term developmental relationships.
Her service extends into the broader civic and professional community. She currently serves as General Counsel for the Mobile Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, providing guidance to an organization central to economic and community growth. Within the Mobile Bar Association, she has held multiple leadership positions, including President of the Young Lawyers Division and Community Outreach Chair, where she has focused on creating opportunities for local engagement and service. She has also served on boards and committees supporting early childhood education efforts in the area.
Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys time with her husband and three children, boating along the Gulf Coast, and cheering on Alabama football.
