Overview
Charlie Rodriguez currently serves as counsel in the firm’s Construction and Project Development practice group, where he advises owners, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders on risk management, dispute resolution, and project execution.
Charlie has significant experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of construction agreements, including traditional, design-build, construction management, operation and maintenance, and public-private partnership (P3) contracts. He also counsels clients on procurement strategies, including contract awards under innovative statutes.
In addition to his transactional work, Charlie assists clients with claim management throughout the lifecycle of a project. Drawing on his prior experience in-house with a major national contractor and as a former assistant project manager, he provides practical guidance for all stages of construction and represents clients in arbitration, litigation, and administrative proceedings.
Outside the office, Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife and son, listening to audiobooks, early mornings at the gym, and staying current on construction industry trends.
Experience
Representative experience includes:
- Co-drafted and negotiated the Requirements and Provisions for Work for the LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal Building P3 project ($4B)
- Drafted and negotiated a construction management agreement between the owner and construction manager for the development of a new cancer center in Redmond, Oregon ($90M)
- Drafted and negotiated an operations and maintenance agreement among a major airplane manufacturer, developer, subcontractor, and O&M contractor for a new manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama ($60M)
