Overview

Grant Reese is an Associate in the firm’s Lending practice group, where he represents financial institutions and other lenders in a wide range of commercial finance matters. His practice includes advising clients on loan originations, restructurings, and the management of distressed assets.

In addition to his lending work, Grant maintains a broader corporate practice, including serving as outside general counsel to closely held businesses, assisting with business formations and advising on capital structure, and guiding clients through real estate and corporate transactions. His multidisciplinary background allows him to provide practical, business-oriented guidance across complex financial and operational issues.

Grant also has litigation experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving contracts, shareholder and partnership matters, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and real estate-related issues. He has authored successful briefs in state and federal courts, including the Alabama Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Grant’s recent appellate experience includes serving as lead counsel in a precedent-setting matter before the Alabama Supreme Court.

Outside the office, Grant enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and traveling. He is also a member of the Phoenix Club of Birmingham and the Rotaract Club of Birmingham.
