Overview

Hayden is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate & Tax Practice Group. Hayden's general corporate practice focuses on advising clients on mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions, joint ventures, debt and equity financing transactions, the structuring and formation of private investment funds, and other general corporate matters. Hayden also maintains an active transactional tax practice, advising both private equity and strategic clients on the tax aspects of complex business transactions.

Hayden received his J.D. from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he served on the student board for the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center and as Executive Online Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. Prior to law school, Hayden received his engineering degrees from the University of Alabama and worked as a Civil Engineer at Southern Company in Birmingham. Hayden is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.

Prior to joining Burr, Hayden practiced in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where his practice focused on the tax aspects of complex business transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and leveraged buyouts as well as joint ventures, debt and equity restructurings, and the formation and structuring of private investment funds.
