Overview
Hayden Gunter is an associate in the firm’s Corporate & Tax practice group. His practice focuses on transactional tax matters, including advising business owners, executives, and private equity clients on the tax aspects of structuring complex transactions; partnership and LLC agreements; incentive equity arrangements; and other general business matters. Hayden also maintains a general corporate and M&A practice, advising clients on business entity formations and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt and equity financing transactions.
Hayden received his J.D. from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he served on the student board of the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center and as Executive Online Editor of the Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. Prior to law school, he earned engineering degrees from the University of Alabama and worked as a civil engineer at Southern Company in Birmingham. Hayden is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.
Before joining Burr, Hayden practiced in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where his practice focused on the tax aspects of complex business transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and leveraged buyouts; debt and equity restructurings; and the formation and structuring of private investment funds.
