Overview
Ryan is an associate in Burr & Forman’s Columbia office, where his practice focuses on economic development and commercial real estate. He helps clients identify and maximize cost savings and other incentives available for their projects. His practice includes fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreements (FILOTs), special source revenue credits (SSRCs), state and local grant programs, abandoned building tax credits, and multi-county industrial and business park arrangements. Ryan works with clients to structure comprehensive incentive packages tailored to their projects, navigate applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and coordinate with state and local governmental entities to help advance their business and development objectives.
Prior to joining Burr & Forman, Ryan served as a Contracting Officer and Team Lead with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force, where he managed complex federal contracts and advised stakeholders on significant procurement and business matters. His experience in government contracting, contract negotiation, and business operations informs his practical, business-oriented approach to helping clients navigate complex projects and transactions.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys weightlifting (he is a former competitive bodybuilder and an aspiring strongman competitor), exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
