Overview
Sam Grimes is a partner in the firm’s Corporate & Tax practice group, where he counsels clients on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, corporate governance, business formation and reorganization, and a wide range of commercial and contractual arrangements.
Drawing on deep industry experience, Sam regularly represents advanced manufacturers in the automotive and RV sectors in supply chain negotiations and disputes, dealer and distribution strategy, commercial partnerships, and regulatory compliance (including advising clients through nationwide recalls filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
Sam frequently serves as outside general counsel to his clients, providing practical, business-oriented advice shaped by his prior experience as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of a national RV manufacturer, as well as his time in a secondment with the legal department of an international automotive manufacturer. This in-house background allows him to deliver advice that is grounded in how businesses actually operate and make decisions. Prior to attending law school, Sam worked as an analyst for the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, and he views it as a privilege to work with clients that seek to create jobs and develop the regional economy.
