Burr & Forman Advises Bradford Health Services on Texas-Based Multi-Facility Acquisition
Bradford Health Services, a Birmingham-based provider of addiction treatment and behavioral health care with a growing national footprint, has acquired three Texas-based programs: The Last Resort Recovery Center in Smithville, Crestone Wellness in Taylor, and The Chapter House in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
This acquisition marks Bradford’s second major expansion in under a year and significantly extends the company’s presence across Central and North Texas, with service coverage expanding from Richardson to Austin.
The Last Resort offers a full continuum of care for men, including detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and virtual outpatient services. Crestone Wellness provides detox and residential services for both men and women, while The Chapter House offers extended care and sober living for men transitioning from primary treatment.
Bradford operates a coordinated network of 40 facilities, offering services spanning early intervention, crisis response, inpatient detox, residential care, and long-term recovery support. The company’s latest acquisition follows its 2024 integration of Lakeview Health, Stepping Stones for Recovery, and Koru Spring, as well as its 2023 acquisition of Vertava Health of Mississippi.
Burr & Forman attorneys Howard Bogard, J.P. Sauer, Norman Orr, Matthew Scully, Bob Ellerbrock, Jessie Bekker, and Josie Wall advised Bradford on all legal aspects of the transaction, including real estate, employment law, diligence and closing.
