Health Care

Angie is a litigator who devotes her practice to advising and defending health care providers in regulatory proceedings, as well as medical malpractice and false claims cases.

She has successfully defended many clients in jury trials and arbitration and has been involved in successful appeals to the Alabama Supreme Court.

Angie also assists health care providers in navigating federal and state laws that directly affect the industry, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the state of Alabama’s Certificate of Need laws, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and the federal Requirements of Participation.

With a primary focus on long term care, she serves as outside general counsel for several nursing home providers and the Alabama Nursing Home Association. She also works with clients in the home health and hospice sectors.

Angie is a partner in Burr & Forman’s Health Care practice group.
