Burr & Forman Expands Jacksonville Office with Three Partner Additions

Firm News

Jacksonville, Fla., Jan. 17, 2017 - Burr & Forman LLP announces the addition of three Jacksonville-based real estate partners: John R."BJ" Ibach, Timothy F. May and Chris R. Strohmenger. These three new partners continue the firm's expansion in Northeast Florida, following the opening of the Jacksonville office one year ago this month. Like several of the twelve attorneys who have joined Burr & Forman to date in Jacksonville, Ibach, May and Strohmenger previously practiced with Rogers Towers, P.A.

"Continued growth in our Jacksonville office emphasizes our strategic commitment to expanding our local attorney base to benefit our developer, retail center management and financial institution clients," said Greg Lunny, Burr & Forman's Jacksonville office managing partner. "With Florida experiencing steady economic growth and a real estate resurgence, we are excited to welcome BJ, Tim and Chris. Their experience in the industry adds to the breadth of real estate and development services we can offer clients through our Jacksonville office. Adding this excellent real estate team also boosts the firm's geographic footprint throughout Florida and across the Southeast."

Ibach works with developers with respect to land acquisitions and sales, development matters, leasing and construction of single-tenant properties, retail shopping centers, multi-family properties and office buildings. He also represents lending institutions in commercial real estate lending transactions, corporate asset-based lending transactions and loan restructuring transactions. Ibach is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Ibach earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, his master's degree from the London School of Economics and his law degree from Vanderbilt School of Law.

May serves clients involved in secured financial transactions and commercial real estate acquisitions, development and dispositions. He has been named among Super Lawyers' rising stars in real estate and Florida Trend magazine's Legal Elite. May earned his undergraduate, M.B.A. and law degrees from the University of Memphis.

Strohmenger guides clients through the acquisition, development, sale and finance of commercial and large-scale real estate projects throughout the Southeast. His projects have included neighborhood and retail shopping centers, large timber tracts, golf courses, office buildings, multi-family residential projects, and residential and non-residential subdivisions. Strohmenger works with banks in transactions with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), as receiver for failed banking institutions, including assisting with the transaction of loans, real property and other assets from the failed bank to the acquiring bank. He also counsels landlords and tenants in connection with the negotiation of office, retail and industrial leases. He has been recognized by his peers as a rising star in real estate by Super Lawyers magazine and is actively involved in the Jacksonville Bar Association.
